Creative Guidelines and Specifications

Creative guidelines and specifications refer to the standards and requirements that govern the creation, design, and technical aspects of ads displayed on various platforms. ad:personam follows these guidelines to maintain consistency and quality across all ads uploaded to its platform.
Hosting
Your uploaded Creatives are hosted with Xandr. The Xandr platform functions as a full-service ad server built for real-time advertising, ensuring advanced reporting, avoiding multiple party fees, and adhering to Xandr's creative standards and auditing processes.
Content Requirements
The following content in ads is strictly prohibited:
- Tobacco, weapons, nudity, defamatory or hate content, illegal activities, and profanities.
- Offers of free gifts, links to quizzes and surveys, misleading claims, and references to sex or sexuality.
- Language mismatch between the creative and landing page.
- Multiple brands combined into a single offer. Each creative must represent a single discernible brand or product offering.
Creative Auditing
All creatives must pass Xandr's auditing process before running on real-time inventory, with a target completion time of one business day from activation.
ad:personam follows Xandr’s foundational policies for creative content, with repeated violations possibly resulting in strikes against members.
Technical Requirements for Display Creatives
- Animated ads must be 30 seconds or less.
- Ads must open in a new tab or window.
- Avoid auto-initiated audio; many publishers block it.
- Ad dimensions must match the configured dimensions.
- No LSOs (Local Shared Objects) like Flash cookies or browser helper objects.
- Creatives cannot set or modify cookies on Xandr-owned domains.
Supported file types include:
- Static images (JPEG, JPG) or GIF, max size 150kb
- HTML5 ZIP files, max size 10MB
Creative Landing Pages
The landing page must open in a new tab or window, match the language, brand, and offer of the creative, and comply with Xandr content standards. Clicking an ad must not initiate a file download.
Specifications for Video Creatives
- Max video file size: 10MB
- Minimum bit rate: 2500kbps
- Minimum size: 1280x720px
Recommended CTV Video Creative Specifications
- Max video file size: 10MB
- Minimum bit rate: 2000kbps
- Minimum resolution: 1280x720 (720p)
- Duration: 15 or 30 seconds
Audio Creative Guidelines and Specifications
All audio creatives must adhere to Xandr’s guidelines. These requirements apply to platforms like Pandora, AdsWizz, and Spotify.
Pandora / AdsWizz Requirements
- File type: MP3, AAC, WAV
- Max file size: 20MB
- Bit rate: Minimum 128 kbps, 196kbps recommended
- Ad length: 15, 30, or 60 seconds
Spotify Requirements
- File type: MP3, WAV, or OGG
- Companion banner: 640x640 or 300x250
- Bit rate: Minimum 128 kbps
- Ad length: 15 or 30 seconds
